Hubert "Steve" Barrix, age 77 of Calhoun, passed away on February 3, 2025, at his home. A private family graveside service with full military rites will be held at Antioch Cemetery in rural Richland County.
Steve was born on December 13, 1947, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Hubert E. and Buelah (Letherland) Barrix. He married the love of his life, Susan Culbertson, on May 9, 1967, in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
Steve proudly served is country in the United States Air Force for 21 years util his retirement in 1987. After his retirement, he worked a few jobs, but mainly spent his time doing his favorite activity, fishing. He loved to fish and either from his boat or the shore. When he wasn't able to fish, he would spend time in his woodworking shop.
Steve is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Barrix of Calhoun, Illinois
